Contributed Content — Washington County women no longer have to wait months for a wellness visit thanks to this new health center in Ivins.
Opening in August 2022, Rocky Vista Health Center becomes the first and only full-spectrum family practice in Ivins, filling a long-awaited community need, said Dr. Steven Harmon, clinical director and family medicine provider. But they are doing much more than that.
“The service we provide is women’s healthcare We often receive feedback from women in the St. George area, looking for a great provider to help meet their needs,” said Nathan LeFevre, Senior Practice Director of Clinical Operations.
The staff at Rocky Vista Health Center knows how important it is for women to be seen by a provider as soon as possible, and LeFevre says most appointments can be made and seen within the same week.

The facility provides a supportive environment for a wide range of concerns, including heart disease, cancer, breast health, sexual health, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, rheumatologic disease, multiple sclerosis, infertility, endometriosis and menopause.
Rocky Vista Health Center also offers birth control services, treatment for sexually transmitted infections and gynecology. The practice site has its own laboratory, allowing lab work to be done in-house. Online access to medical results provides convenience to patients, while in-house labs save time and money and reduce the need to drive to other locations for testing.
Beyond women’s health, the full practice also offers primary care, pediatrics and family medicine for adults and seniors, as well as telemedicine appointments.

The facility treats acute problems like stitches, urinary tract infections and respiratory infections and also performs minor procedures like wound debridement and toenail removal. Vaccinations are administered at the medical center and various physical examinations are available, including those required for sports, religious missions, and employment.
Chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and chronic headaches, including anxiety and depression, are treated at home, as well as preventive care such as cancer and cholesterol screenings. They also have the ability to evaluate the heart through an electrocardiogram.
“We have very good patient-centered care,” Harmon said. “You’re going to feel like we’re listening to you, and we care about you. If you have problems, we’ll try to solve them.”
Harmon said one of the main things her patients enjoy about the practice is that they take the time necessary to listen to their patients’ unique stories and understand the full scope of their medical issues. A healthcare plan is then formulated together with the patient and provider.
“It’s not just a one-stop-shop kind of medicine; We are really focused on taking individual needs into consideration,” he added.

Rocky Vista Health Center is dedicated to caring for all women at every point in their lives. With their collaborative and team-oriented approach, they don’t just see patients, they see each woman’s unique story.
Fluent in medical Spanish, Harmon is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He completed his family medicine residency in Boise, Idaho, where he received procedural training in osteopathic manipulative medicine, dermatology procedures, and joint aspiration and injection. To support and meet the needs of the community, he said he plans to expand the practice and may add another provider at Rocky Vista Health Center later this year.
