Popular Caribbean Cruise Destination Drops All Travel Necessities

Popular Caribbean cruise destination St. Kitts immediately repealed the vaccination and testing requirements for all visitors. Now the islands welcome both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers without showing evidence of a negative test upon entry.

st. Kitts and Nevis Federation updated travel requirements for all visitors, including citizens, residents and international travelers, on August 15, 2022, welcoming all vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from Caribbean borders.

Effective immediately, all guests are entitled to enter the country without evidence of a negative COVID-19 test. These travel updates were made by the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Supported under the guidance of Terrance Drew.

st. Kitts Tourism Authority CEO Ellison “Tommy” Thompson says: “The removal of entry testing and vaccination requirements comes at a time when passenger confidence is growing. The combination of increased demand and smoother travel processes makes St. It will make Kitts even more attractive to visitors abroad.”

“We are pleased to announce that the restrictions have been lifted to improve the destination’s travel experience” added.

Additionally, the double island nation between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, St. Kitts and Nevis no longer require guests to be quarantined upon arrival, giving guests greater travel flexibility.

Travelers are advised to follow basic health and safety protocols such as frequent hand washing and disinfection, practicing physical distancing, and encouraging mask wearing.

st. All travelers visiting Kitts and Nevis must complete and submit an Immigration and Customs ED form that includes a Customs and Border Form.

Previously, visitors to the islands were required to be fully vaccinated and tested for COVID before arrival.

St Kitts is home to four ports, but most cruise ships dock at a terminal known as Port Zante, which is within walking distance of St Kitts’ capital, Basseterre. The port has two berths capable of holding some of the largest ships in the world.

Nevis’ capital, Charlestown, has the island’s main cruise port. Cruise ships visiting Nevis can anchor at sea and transport passengers by tender boats to the port’s pier.

Cruise Destinations Changing Requirements

In response to the removal of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) volunteer sailing program On July 18, the cruise industry saw a rapid change in protocols for most routes and destinations and announced a more relaxed set of requirements while returning to a normal state.

Following the convenience of the industry’s requirements, Bermuda has recently updated its protocols and regulations. From August 22, 2022, Unvaccinated travelers will be able to revisit Bermuda, but all visitors will still be subject to certain testing requirements.

Many additional Caribbean destinations have changed their travel protocols to encourage more visitors for the upcoming cruise season. st. Maarten is currently open to vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, but a test result is still required for entry for travelers and those who have recovered from COVID within nine months.

The U.S. Virgin Islands are also St. Lucia, St. Barts welcomes both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, along with Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and the Cayman Islands. Stay tuned for more relevant updates as they quickly emerge.

It’s important to know that guests still need to follow protocols implemented by cruise companies, as requirements for cruises may differ from general cruises.
