Chad Cathey appointed as chief operating officer Lakeview Regional Medical CenterA campus of Tulane Medical Center.

Cathey has executive responsibility from the operational procedures of the 167-bed acute care hospital and will be part of the team responsible for the hospital’s strategic planning.

Cathey most recently served as senior director of hospital operations at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, Franciscan Missionaries of the Our Lady Health System facility in Baton Rouge. Cathey has 10 years of operational experience. She served as an administrative officer at our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and as a project manager in the department of anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in management from LSU, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southeastern Louisiana, and a master’s degree in healthcare management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.

Thomas Aleman was hired by OnPath Federal Credit Union as senior vice president of growth.

Aleman hails from Corporate One FCU, a $6 billion corporate credit union where he is vice president of key accounts.

Prior to joining Corporate One, Aleman was regional director of JMFA, a noninterest income and noninterest expense consulting firm. He was also a licensed relationship banker at JPMorgan Chase Bank in New Orleans and, before that, a teller at Whitney National Bank.

Annie Matherne joined Gambel Communications as a senior communications strategist.

Matherne will develop and manage communications strategy and solutions for a variety of clients, including Ronald McDonald House Charities, Hilton New Orleans Riverside and Sankofa of Southern Louisiana.

He is the former public relations director of the Audubon Nature Institute.

He graduated from Spring Hill College with a degree in public relations and advertising and a minor in business. While at university, Matherne worked as an intern at Gambel.

Jeffrey FernandezOchsner Health’s senior vice president and executive advisor assumed the role of CEO of the new company. Ochsner Health Plan.

Fernandez replaced Terry Shilling, who assumed a consulting role to lead the implementation of the health plan.

Prior to joining Ochsner in August 2021, Fernandez served as senior vice president of Humana’s Medicare West division, responsible for Medicare Advantage operations in 17 states, including Louisiana. His career with Humana lasted 16 years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from LSU, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans, and a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law.

jennifer clowns appointed as chief financial officer Our Lady of the Lake Health.

Clowers has 16 years of service as the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System and most recently serves as the system’s vice president of ambulatory services. She has held various roles at Our Lady of Lourdes Health, starting as vice president of finance/controller, through to CFO and eventually interim market president she.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in business administration from Louisiana Tech University.

Mel Collins elected as president NPC Services.

Collins has served as NPC’s facility manager since 2004, managing day-to-day operations and administration, operations personnel, and coordination of contracted services.

Collins replaced Bill Dawson, who retired after 36 years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from LSU.

Dr. Victorian Bourgeois and Nathan Sugarman to join Baton Rouge General PhysiciansLocated on the hospital’s Bluebonnet campus.

Bourgeois will see patients at the Gynecology and Obstetrics clinic, and Sugarman will care for patients at Baton Rouge Family Medical Center.

Bourgeois earned her medical degree from Caribbean American University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the LSU Health Science Center at Women’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Sugarman holds a BA in biology from the University of California and a medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at Baton Rouge General, where he served as chief assistant.

Dr. Prathipa Santhanam joined the providers group Our Lady of the Lake Child Health.

Santhanam is a pediatric gastroenterologist who treats patients with a variety of ailments, including abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, eosinophilic esophagitis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

He earned a BA in biology, physics and chemistry from Anglo-Chinese Junior College and a PhD from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. He completed his pediatric residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and ACGME Fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina.
